Dear Friends,
Happy summer, everyone! In addition to camp, swimming, and outdoor sports, the JCC is embracing one of my favorite seasonal traditions next month: The outdoor movie! Presented in partnership with Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media (PJFM), this film series will show three delightful, family-friendly films outdoors here at the JCC every other Thursday night, beginning July 14 – August 11. All screenings will begin at 8:00pm outside at the Kaiserman JCC, and kosher snacks will be available at each. Don’t forget to bring your chairs and blankets. What’s on the schedule?
- We kick things off July 14 with a classic: “The Goonies!” Richard Donner and Steven Spielberg’s coming-of-age, 80s cult classic takes us on an action-adventure for the ages.
- The fun continues on July 28 with a past winner of the PJFM Audience Award for Best Documentary (2018) – “Heading Home: The Tale of Team Israel,” follows Israel’s national baseball team as they compete in the World Baseball Classic.
- We wrap things up on August 11with “Jews of the Wild West.” This documentary feature is a Philadelphia premier, presenting a long-forgotten, unheard of chapter of American history: the efforts and accomplishments that thousands of Jews made in shaping the Western frontier.
We are grateful to our partners at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and the Kehillah of Delaware County for helping us make this program possible. Tickets can be purchased here today, and for the next several weeks. Family passes are available!
Check out the great trailer here for more!
Shabbat Shalom,
Alan
