Dear Friends,
New at the J beginning in June – adult pickleball clinics! We are so excited to announce that we are teaming up with Universal Rackets to bring the popular sport of pickleball to both beginner and intermediate level players in our local community.
Pickleball, often described as a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, is a fast-paced paddle sport played on a modified tennis court with a low net. It is easy to learn, making it an ideal choice for people of all ages and skill levels! Beginners will learn the pickleball basics, including rules, strokes, and court positioning. Intermediate players will focus on refining their skills, improving strategy, and mastering more advanced techniques.
Now for a fun fact! Pickleball was invented by 3 dads! It is said that the men returned from golf one day to find their families bored, so they decided to try to invent a game that the whole family could play. They lowered the badminton net and used ping pong rackets and a wiffle ball to start playing. They then created the rules and pickleball was invented! The game quickly gained popularity among their friends and soon spread to nearby communities. Pickleball rapidly grew into what it is today, captivating players all across the world.
Each clinic session will span six weeks, providing enough time for participants to develop their skills and build confidence on the court. To accommodate busy schedules, we are offering the clinics on two different days: Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
Join us and experience the joy of pickleball at the Kaiserman JCC with Universal Rackets!
Shabbat Shalom,
Jamie
