Hello everyone!
I am so excited to introduce myself to the JCC community. My name is Emma Fischer, I am a second-year student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, and I am delighted to be serving as the Kaiserman JCC’s Rabbinic Intern this year.
Growing up in Nashville, TN, the JCC was a mainstay of my Jewish experience and identity. So many of my fondest Jewish memories stem from experiences I had at the JCC, and I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to play a part in creating a similar experience for others.
As the Rabbinic Intern, this year my work will be focused on providing programming to enrich the Jewish community both at home on our campus in Wynnewood and in the larger Philadelphia area. November is a great programmatic month here at the J – we’ve got Family Shabbat at the J on November 10th, Storytime and Crafts with Emma launching in Delaware County on the 16th (registration coming soon!), and the very first session of Dorot in Bucks County beginning on November 19th!
I look forward to meeting you at one or more of these events and (more!) as I settle into my role in this fantastic community. I am in the JCC building on Mondays and Fridays, please feel free to pop in and say “Hi” – my door is always open! If you’re not in the building, I’d love to connect via email – you can reach me at emma@phillyjcc.com.
I’m so excited to be here and to be with all of you!
B’shalom,
Emma
