December is here, and as the days grow shorter, the excitement for Hanukkah is building at the JCC. We invite you to shine a light on the season with us!
Our preschoolers are working on exciting Hanukkah projects that are sure to bring smiles and joy, and this week the children had a special visit from The Hands-On-Jewish Oil Press Workshop! They learned the beautiful art of making olive oil from fresh olives and got to help remove the pits from the olives for the press. They also got to make wicks for the Menorah!

Preparations are in full blast for our annual Community Hanukkah Celebration. Please join us Sunday evening, December 10th for a kosher dinner, special Hannukah show, dreidel tournament, Maccabee Obstacle Course, Storytelling and more! We’ll be joined by incredible community partners to make the evening even more memorable.
But the Hanukkah festivities don’t stop there! On Monday, December 11, don’t miss our Gem’s Hanukkah Stevie Doo Wop Fundraiser. Join us for a family candle lighting, delicious nosh, and a musical journey into the songs of Lee Andrews and the Hearts, Five Satins, Dion and the Belmonts, Sam Cooke, Bobby Darin, Paul Anka, and more.
To add a warm glow to the season, we’re hosting candle lighting in our lobby for each night of Hanukkah at 4pm with our JCC program staff.
