Happy Sukkot! Join us at Fall Fest!

|

Dear Friends,

Sukkot brings a sense of joy that resonates deeply. As we step outside to embrace nature, enjoy festive meals, and marvel at beautiful decorations, we fulfill the Torah’s call to “rejoice in your festival” (Deuteronomy 16:14). This celebration of joy is mentioned three times in the Torah, and with good reason: Sukkot is about experiencing happiness through gratitude, contentment, and the warmth of togetherness.

This year, we celebrate not only the joy of Sukkot but also the coming of fall with our Third Annual Community Fall Festival on Sunday, October 20th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Here at the JCC, we’re inviting everyone to join us for a day filled with excitement and activities that bring the community together. Entry is free, though many activities require tickets. You can also purchase a wristband giving you access to unlimited ticketed activities.

Here’s a preview of some of the festivities:

Free Activities for All Ages: Enjoy live music from Soof Sela, check out our touch-a-truck experience, play yard games, explore our sukkah, try hands-on crafts, and visit the adoptable puppies corner. Plus, kids can dive into science experiments with Nature Jack, experience PJ Library Story Time, and more!

Ticketed (or wristband) Activities: Kids can enjoy a variety of rides and activities, including the Giant Dual Slide, Ferris Wheel Jump and Slide, Inflatable Mini Golf, a Pumpkin Patch, and even a Petting Zoo. You can still register early and pre-order your wristbands, or we will have wristbands and tickets for sale at the door.

In addition to these exciting activities, Sukkot is a time to welcome guests, or Ushpizin, into our sukkah. Whether you’re joining us at the JCC sukkah or spending time with family and friends, this festival reminds us of the joy in shared meals, fellowship, and the spirit of giving.

Our hearts also turn to Israel during this season, as we stand together in hope and support. At Fall Fest we’ll celebrate unity, resilience, and the spirit of connection through music and meaningful dialogue as we enjoy an inspiring performance by Israeli musician Soof Sela and participate in conversations with our Israeli ShinShinim from The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI).

Come celebrate Sukkot and fall together this Sunday—join us for food, music, fun, and community! We look forward to rejoicing with you in this season of joy.

Chag Sameach & Happy Fall,

Rabbi Moriah SimonHazani
