Class Descriptions:
Aqua Fit: Join us in the pool for Aqua Fit! Aqua Fit is a water workout for everyone, especially those with joint ailments. All exercises use your body weight, water resistance dumbbells &/or noodles in this 45-minute class. (SUMMER ONLY)
Dance Barre Fusion: A high energy, fun and challenging workout that will get your heart rate up, tone and tighten your muscles. This class incorporates isometric movements, dance cardio, resistance training, and pilates mat work. Join Sevon for 45 minutes of fun every Friday!
Buff Bones Pilates: This class focuses on a bone-strengthening routine that combines Pilates with functional movement and strength training. Designed for those with osteoporosis, but beneficial for all, this class enhances posture, balance, and core stability. Sessions promote overall bone health through gentle and effective exercises.
Cardio Sculpt: Class for mature adults. This class is designed to increase strength, flexibility, range of motion, mobility, and balance with cardio. Exercises can be performed seated or standing.
Complete Conditioning: Experience the perfect synergy of strength and cardio in this invigorating class. This dynamic session seamlessly blends heart-pumping cardio intervals with targeted strength exercises, delivering a comprehensive full-body workout. Join us for a session that will leave you feeling empowered and energized, within a supportive environment.
Dance, Strength, and Stretch with Oreet J.S.: Move with confidence and joy in this class designed specifically for the beautiful, active ager. This low-impact workout combines easy dance moves, intervals of strength training, and gentle stretching. Whether you’re looking to stay active, build strength, or simply move to the music, this class will leave you feeling stronger, more flexible, and uplifted!
In Touch Yoga: In Touch Yoga is a blend of a physical yoga practice, breathwork, and meditation, designed specifically for people to become more in touch with their bodies. The class focuses on relieving tension in the body as well as building strength and balance. Practice can be done on a yoga mat as well as seated in a chair.
Strength Training: The CDC recommends at least 2 days a week of exercises that strengthen your muscles. Not only does strength training strengthen your muscles, it also helps your balance and mobility. Join Maureen to work on strengthening different parts of your body each week.
Stretch and Sculpt: Stretch and Sculpt is broken down into 20 minutes of warm-up and chair deep stretching, followed by 20 minutes sculpt and a 5-minute cooldown. This class will help you improve your muscle flexibility, while also strengthening all parts of your body. Be prepared to work out in a standing or seated position.
Total Body Fitness: Enjoy a moderately paced, rhythmic aerobic and strength training workout to improve endurance, mobility, and head to toe strength. Class is broken down into 15 minutes of moderate cardio, followed by 5- 10 minutes of strength training per muscle group (legs, arms, abs) and finishes with lighter cardio/cool down and stretching. (Standing Class)
Yoga Foundations: Return to the basics to ensure good form and strategies in this yoga foundations class with Rivkah Miller. All levels are welcome!
Zumba Gold: A total workout, combining elements of fitness cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. Boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome guaranteed each time you leave class.

Sevon Wright is a dance teacher and choreographer in the Philadelphia area and has found her love and passion to inspire through movement and art. She began pilates as a dance major in high school and right away saw the benefits of cross training and preventing injury. She is a lover of fitness and group classes that bring people together from all walks of life.
Trina Lyons, owner of Mastah Tee Fitness, has over 20 years of experience in various dance styles, including Street, Hip Hop, Jazz, and more. She emphasizes core strength for injury prevention, integrating Pilates into her training. Trina’s programs use fitness tailored to meet the needs of all fitness levels.
Andre Coles is a dedicated fitness instructor at Roots2Rise, specializing in holistic wellness and community empowerment. With a passion for movement and personal growth, he creates inclusive classes that inspire participants to connect with their bodies and minds. Andre’s approach emphasizes strength, resilience, and the importance of a supportive fitness community, making every session a transformative experience.
Oreet J S is a passionate instructor at Sharqi Belly Dance, specializing in the art of belly dance and its cultural significance. With a focus on body positivity and self-expression, Oreet creates a welcoming environment for dancers of all levels. Her classes blend traditional techniques with modern flair, encouraging students to embrace their unique movements and build confidence through dance.
Beth Landenheim is a dynamic Zumba Dance Fitness Instructor with a rich background in Israeli, International, Square, Bellydancing, and Latin Line Dancing. Since discovering her passion for Zumba in 2009, she has combined her expertise as a Dance/Movement Therapist and folk dance instructor to create engaging classes for all ages and skill levels. Beth’s enthusiasm for dance and movement inspires her students to embrace fitness joyfully and inclusively.
Caroline Brenner is a dedicated Pilates instructor with over 20 years of experience in both mat and reformer techniques. Her journey into Pilates deepened after facing a serious medical condition, revealing its transformative physical and mental benefits. Passionate about teaching, Caroline aims to help clients master their movements, build core strength, and enhance flexibility in a safe environment. With a BA in Social Work and an MA in Clinical Social Work, she integrates holistic well-being into her practice.
Maureen Kimmel brings over 15 years of fitness teaching experience to the JCC, where she has been inspiring participants since 2017. Certified in Core, Barre, Silver Sneakers, and Silver/Chair Yoga, she specializes in total body cardio fitness. Maureen’s welcoming approach ensures that everyone feels included in her classes, leaving each session feeling revitalized and empowered.
