SharQui – The Bellydance workout (9:30-10:30am) – Join us for SharQuí, The Bellydance Workout®, is an empowering fitness experience that’s not focused on weight loss, but on joy and celebrating beauty – specifically your beauty. And if you thought you had 2 left feet? Well, fear not! SharQui’s unique breakdown and build up method can get anyone to dance. Fun Fact: Did you know that bellydance is deeply rooted in the rich cultural mosaic of Jewish culture? Oh yes, particularly among Jews from Arab lands and Israel. So, are you ready to embrace another part of Jewish culture while getting a sweat? Then it’s time to try SharQuí!
Spring Plant Exchange (10-11am): Celebrate Spring at our Day at the J with our first ever Plant Swap. Join us in the JCC lobby and please bring with you plants to swap with other community members. Plants may be: indoor or outdoor plants, in pots, propagated plant clippings, or even a struggling plant that you have given up but maybe someone else could revive it. The number of items you bring will be the number of items you will take with you.
The Illustrated Passover Haggadah: A spiritual, historical, and cultural biography of the Jewish people (12:30-1:30) – Join us as travel through the centuries with Dr. Daskal and his amazing Haggadah collection. We illustrate some highlights from of the more prized items collected over the past 40 years. These items will demonstrate how the Passover illustrated Haggadah reflects the universal historical Jewish experience. We are excited to share items in our collection range from the earliest copy printed in 1505 and excludes facsimiles and copies printed after 1960, and printed in more than 20 languages.
